On Thursday March 12, 2020, it is with great sadness that the family of Dale Leslie Hewitt announces his passing at the age of 67.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 16, 2020, at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage with Pastor David A. Werges officiating. Burial will be in the Osage Cemetery, with Military Honors by the Osage American Legion Post 278. Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Monday at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage.

Dale was born August 18, 1952, in New Hampton, the son of Herbert and Marjorie (Donovan) Hewitt. Dale was a Veteran of the United Sates Army, who proudly served his country, which carried over through life with family and community. He enjoyed his ’57 Chevy, love for dogs, and having fun with his family and friends. His stories, jokes, and infectious laughter will be greatly missed!

Dale is survived by three brothers, Ron Hewitt of Honduras, Mike (Debra) Hewitt of Austin, Texas, and Melvin Hewitt of Rock Island, Illinois; one sister, Karen (Steve) Hipp of Bettendorf; and several nieces and nephews, who loved him deeply.

He was preceded in death by his parents; infant sister, Margaret Ann Hewitt; brother, Larry Hewitt; sister-in-law, Penny Hewitt and his former wife, Karen Crossley Hewitt.
