Eldon H. Reddel

October 11, 1938 - September 23, 2019

Eldon H. Reddel, age 80 of Riceville, Iowa, passed away Monday, Sept 23, 2019 at his home in rural Riceville.

Eldon Harold Reddel was born October 11, 1938 at Lu Verne, Iowa, the son of Harold and Donna (Lenz) Reddel. On august 25, 1958 he was united in marriage to Viola Brown at Pomeroy, Iowa. To this union six children were born: Deb Guarin, Darrell, Reddel, Donna May, Diane Ver Hoef, Duane Reddel and Dean Reddel.

Eldon and family moved to the Riceville area in March of 1964. Eldon farmed until 2000 when his health would not let him farm any more. Eldon enjoyed his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He also enjoyed fishing and playing cards with friends and family.

He is survived by his 6 children: Deb (Rolondo) Guarin of Forest City, IA, Darrell (Jackie) Reddel of Decorah, IA, Donna (Dann) May of Mason City, IA, Diane (Randy) Ver Hoef of Garner, IA, Duane (Geraldine) Reddel of Riceville and Dean Reddel of Riceville, IA, 21 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, numerous step grandchildren; 6 siblings: Sharon Hoffman of Lake Mills, IA, Delores (Denny) Glauve of Wesley, IA, Carol (Steve) Oxly of State Center, IA, Kathy Reddel of Wesley, IA, Linda Steffenson of Racine, WI and Larry (Mary) Reddel of Wesley, IA.

He is preceded in death by his parents, and his wife Viola in 2015.
