Marvin Reis

Marvin L. Reis, age 84, of Osage, Iowa, died Friday, June 28, 2019, at the Mitchell County Regional Health Center in Osage.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 2, 2019, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Osage, with Father Raymond Burkle officiating. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Osage. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage.

Marvin was born June 24, 1935 in Charles City, Iowa, the son Lewis and Dorothy (Burkhardt) Reis. He attended and graduated from St. Ansgar High School in 1954. Marvin served his country in the Iowa National Guard.

On November 21, 1959, Marvin married Marilynn Flowers at the St. Ansgar Catholic Church. Marvin farmed, worked at Mark’s Tractor, and the Oliver Factory. He enjoyed golfing, travel, casinos, grandkids, great-grandkids, holiday gatherings, Dodge Ram pickups, pool league, and bowling league. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, Farm Bureau, and Stoney Creek Coffee group.

Marvin is survived by his wife, Marilynn Reis of Osage; children, Julie (Mike) Duncomb of Anamosa, Brian (Diana) Reis of Osage, Diane (Dan) Sullivan of Osage, and Denise (Brent) Michaelson of Osage; grandchildren, Brandon (Erin) Duncomb, Darrin (Whitney) Duncomb, Kelly (Joe) Koenigs, Danelle Reis, Ellen (TJ) Berger, Brad Sullivan, Derek (Samantha) Sullivan, Melanie (Matt) Oakland, Josh Reis, Dillon (Megan) Summer and Katie (Nate) Nicholson; great-grandchildren, Logan Duncomb, Annalie Duncomb, Russell Duncomb, Beckett Duncomb, Raina Koenigs, Genevieve Koenigs, Sylvia Koenigs, Lewis Koenigs, Rockwell Berger, Ayden Sullivan, Ava Sullivan, Harper Sullivan, Kallan Sullivan, Kylie Sullivan, Damian Clayton and Owen Summer; sisters-in-law, Marian Johnson of Charles City, Sagda Flowers of Omaha, Nebraska; brother-in-law, Robert (Adeline) Flowers of South Beloit, Illinois.

He was preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter-in-law, Michelle Sullivan; brothers and sisters-in-law, Marie (Bill) Fenton, Margaret Smith, Arnold Johnson, Roger Flowers and Richard Flowers.
