Anna “Louise” Hinrichsen, age 84, of Osage, died Tuesday, June 11, 2019, at the Mitchell County Regional Health Center in Osage.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 15, 2019, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Osage, Iowa, with Rev. Cindy S. Krause officiating. Burial will be at the Orchard Cemetery in Orchard, Iowa. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage.
Louise was born November 18, 1934, in Ottawa, Kansas, the daughter of Clinton and Margaret (Starks) Shomber. She attended and graduated from Nora Springs High School in 1952.
Louise was united in marriage to Robert Hinrichsen on June 21, 1953, at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Nora Springs. Through the years she was a waitress, grocery store clerk, cleaned houses and was a Stanley Home Products Representative.
In December of 1969, Louise and Bob moved to Osage, where they owned Bob’s Upholstery business for 38 years. Louise was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Rachel Circle, previous Den Mother for the cub scouts, Osage V.F.W. Auxiliary, Osage American Legion Auxiliary, and a board member of the Shared Table at the United Church of Christ in Osage. She was a “Special Grandma” to many throughout the years.
Louise is survived by her son, Mark (Kim) Hinrichsen of Osage; grandson/caregiver, Michael Hinrichsen of Osage; granddaughter, Jessie (Brandon) Parcel of Osage; three sisters, Barbara Miller of Osage, Dorothy Turner of Council Bluffs and Linda Riker of Osage; many nieces and nephews; and her pet cat, Hoot.
She was preceded in death by her parents; step-parents; husband, Bob in 2008; son, Byron in 2016; daughter-in-law, Linnette; three brothers, Duane Shomber, Charles Shomber and Larry Moody.
