Jacqueline “Jackie” Irene Reams, age 68, of Osage, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, at her home on Friday, April 26, 2019.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 30, 2019, at the First United Methodist Church in Osage with Pastor Julie Schubert officiating. Burial will be in the Osage Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:30 p.m. Monday at Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage.

Jackie was born February 28, 1951, in Osage, Iowa, the daughter of John “Jack” and Allegra (Power) Smith. She graduated from Osage Community High School in 1969. On September 12, 1970, Jackie married Terry M. Reams at the First United Methodist Church in Osage.

She worked as a CNA at St. Marys in Rochester and at Maple Manor Nursing Home in Osage, and was employed as a cook at Osage Community Schools. Jackie was a very active member of the First United Methodist Church, where she was a Lay Leader and served on numerous committees. She was also a Certified Lay Speaker, was Co-President 2019 U.M.W. Officer, and was Spiritual Growth and Mission Coordinator for the Northeast District for three years. Jackie was a lifetime member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary, and was involved with Relay for Life and Crop Walk.

Being a blood donor was important to Jackie; in recent months, she was the recipient of blood donated through the generosity of others. She loved reading, picking berries, and watching the birds in her backyard. Most of all, Jackie loved spending time with her kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids, and greatly enjoyed attending their choir, band, and sporting events.

Jackie is survived by her husband, Terry M. Reams of Osage; her children, Terry J. (Kimberly) Reams of Mason City, Melissa Reams (Joe Rosenberg) of St. Ansgar, Jason (Jill) Reams of Osage, and Joe (Kyera) Reams of Osage; grandchildren, Megan (Ethon) Koenen, Casey Mayer (Kimberly Fleming), Lindy Pederson, and Jared Mayer (Crystal Theobald), all of St. Ansgar, Tyler Reams and Cody Reams, both of Osage, Alexis Reams of Mason City, Bekka Reams (Brandon Pierce) of Waterloo, Daylene Ritter of Greene, Samuel, Ava, William, Charles and Luella Reams, all of Osage, and Kaylee Magstadt of Grinnell; great-grandchildren, Addison, Avery, and Aliyah Pederson, and Lelan and Delanie Koenen, all of St. Ansgar; sisters, Pauline (Carroll) Winer of Osage and Georgine (Roger) Pitzen of Marion; and several other extended family members.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Allegra Josephine Garrison; and several other extended family members.
