Jan Griffin, age 88, of Osage, Iowa, died Tuesday, March 5, 2019, at the Osage Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Osage.

Visitation with the body present, will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday, March 8, 2019, at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage. Following the visitation, cremation will take place. Inurnment will be at a later date in the Osage Cemetery.

Jan was born December 12, 1930, in Des Moines, Iowa, the daughter of James and Nora (King) Haver. She graduated from Roosevelt High School in Des Moines. Jan married Chuck Piatt on Aug. 7, 1949, to this union were born four children. Jan married Herb Griffin on December 7, 1984. She was very artistic, she enjoyed painting, crocheting, knitting, and was an avid golfer and reader. Jan especially loved spending time with all of her family.

Jan is survived by her husband, Herb Griffin of Osage; children, Stephen (Kim Gage) Piatt of West Springfield, Massachusetts, Bev (Denny) Brooker of Osage, Carolyn (Gary) Chaney of Fort Collins, Colorado, and Phyllis (Terry) Ruehlow of Osage; step-children, Eric Griffin of Northwood and Christine Orluskie of Minnesota; 14 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; sister, Eula Gooby of Scottsdale, Arizona; and several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Chuck; great-grandson, Mason; brother, Jim; and sisters, Maxine and Lois.
