Obituary

St. Ansgar, Iowa – Ramona Gayle (Rasmussen) Patterson, 82, of St. Ansgar, died on October 19, 2018. Funeral service will be on Tuesday, October 23, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Peter Lutheran Church, Toeterville, Iowa, with Rev. Lance Kittleson officiating. Burial will be in Woodbury Cemetery, Lyle, Minnesota.

Ramona was born on July 30, 1936 in Freeborn County, Minnesota. She was the daughter of John and Evelyn Rasmussen.

Ramona was baptized at the Deer Creek Valley Lutheran Church, rural Glenville, Minnesota, and was confirmed in her Christian faith at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Lyle, Minnesota.

On August 9, 1969 she was united in marriage to Craig Patterson at St. Olaf Lutheran Church, Austin, Minnesota. God blessed their marriage with two daughters, Julie and Kimberly.

Ramona worked at the FSA office in Austin for 18 years. She and her husband, Craig farmed together by Carpenter for many years.

Ramona was best known for her love of life and the big smile she always had on her face. She was young at heart and found no reason to act her age. She had a generous heart and loved to spoil her family. She found joy in working outside tending to her flowers and lawn as well as creating a cozy and beautiful home.

She was a hard worker and was always willing to lend a hand no matter how big or small. She also enjoyed traveling and spending time with friends. Mostly she loved being with her family and watching them grow. She had an infectious laugh that lit up the room.

Ramona was preceded in death by her parents and an infant son, Douglas John.

She is survived by her husband, Craig: two daughters, Julie (Christian) Paulson of San Tan Valley, AZ and Kimberly (Kent) Karschnik of Mountain Lake, MN; six grandchildren, Autumn, Bryce, Adam, Alex, Ashely and Andre.
