Keith James Johanns, age 61, of New Haven, passed away Wednesday, September 26, 2018, at Methodist Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota.

A Graveside Inurnment will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 1, 2018, at St. Peter’s Catholic Cemetery in New Haven with Pastor Gary Gilbert officiating. Visitation with the body present will be from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. Sunday at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage. A Celebration of Life luncheon will immediately follow the graveside service on Monday in the St. Peter’s Church Hall.

Keith was born July 29, 1957, in Osage, the son of Raymond and Shirley (Adams) Johanns. He graduated from Osage High school in 1975. Keith was united in marriage to Terry Moore on September 24, 1977. He enjoyed many things including spending time with family, friends, golfing, trips to Las Vegas (as he would say spending his kid’s inheritance) and farming on the family farm for the past “53” years. Keith particularly enjoyed spoiling all of his grandchildren every chance he got especially by giving them M&M’s.

Keith was known as a fighter which is a true testament to his strength throughout the last four years during his battle with cancer.

Keith is survived by his wife of 41 years, Terry Johanns of New Haven; mother, Shirley Johanns of Osage; three children, Joe (Ann) Johanns of New Haven, Jenna (Andrew) Carlson of Wylie, Texas, and Jessa (Casey) Ketelsen of Osage;11 grandchildren, Lucas, Spencer and Weston Johanns, Tyler and Avery Carlson, Olivia, Ava and Cade Ketelsen, Ben, Lauren and Megan Gerdman; siblings, Ann (Wayne) Stewart of Morro Bay, California, Bill (Dawn) Johanns of Osage, Susan (Dan) Blake of Stacyville, Barbara (Don) Johnson of Osage; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond; sister, Margaret Jo Gerdman; nephew, Daniel Gerdman; mother and father-in-law, Lester and Esther Moore; and sister-in-law, Sherry Moore.
