Ronald R. Mayer, age 73, of Stacyville, Iowa, passed away Saturday, June 30, 2018, at the Stacyville Community Nursing Home in Stacyville.

Cremation has taken place.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, August 4, 2018, at Visitation Catholic in Stacyville with Father Raymond Burkle officiating. Inurnment will be at Visitation Catholic Cemetery in Stacyville with military honors by American Legion Hale Penney Fuller Post #569 of Stacyville. Following the inurnment, there will be a time for lunch and fellowship in the church basement.

Ron was born September 3, 1944 the son of Jerome and Sylvia (Adams) Mayer. He attended Visitation High School and graduated in 1962. Ron served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He worked for Oliver/White Farm for many years till the plant closed. He then worked for TCM, Inc. in Stacyville. Ron was a member of the Visitation Catholic Church in Stacyville.

He recently received his 50-yr. membership certificate from the American Legion Hale Penney Fuller Post #569 in Stacyville. Ron enjoyed trapshooting, fishing, and archery. Ron will be remembered as a very generous person.

Ron is survived by his mother, Sylvia of Stacyville; aunts, uncles and many cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father; Jerome in 1991.
