Mildred L. Matteson, 97

Mildred Leone Stark Martens Matteson, 97, passed away at her home in St. Petersburg, Florida, on May 29, 2018.

Mildred was the daughter of Harvey and Marion Torney Stark, and was born March 14, 1921 in Riceville, Iowa.

She was united in marriage to Harlan Martens, divorced, then in later years she married Warren Matteson.

As a young woman Mildred joined the Congregational Church of Riceville.

She is survived by her daughter Rene (Gordon) Momberg; step daughter Deb (Joe) Zubrod; daughter-in-law Patricia Martens; five grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; one great great grandson; sister-in-law Loretta Stark and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Warren; son, Rodney Martens; her parents; two sisters and two brothers.

A funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 14 at the Riverside Cemetery in Riceville, Iowa. A luncheon will follow at 11 a.m. at the Windy Tree Café in Riceville.
