Bernice Amanda (Blaser) Wiese -- 1924-2018

Bernice Amanda Wiese, 94, of Austin, Minnesota, died Tuesday, May 15, 2018, at Comforcare Good Samaritan Care Center in Austin.

Bernice was born January 26, 1924, in Osage, Iowa, to Math and Julia (Diedrich) Blaser. She attended school in the Stacyville, Iowa, area. Bernice married Walter Wiese on Sept. 20, 1941, in Austin and they were blessed with three children.

Bernice was a member of the PTA while her children were young and she was an active member of St. Augustine Catholic Church, where she helped with funerals and weddings. Bernice was a homemaker, but through the years she managed the Arena and worked in the catalog department at the Charles Fox Company. She enjoyed reading and loved to spend time with her children and grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Walter; daughter, June Nierengarten; and son, Terry.

Bernice is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Julie and Pat O’Brien, Waseca, Minnesota; daughter-in-law, Barb Wiese, Owatonna, Minnesota; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; sister, Jeanette Duren, Austin; brothers, Willard (Donna) Blaser, Austin, and Clifford (Jerene) Blaser, Austin; and nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 16, at Clasen-Jordan Mortuary with Father Raul Silva officiating. Visitation will be one hour before the service on Saturday. Interment will be at Grandview Cemetery.
