Donna was born September 23, 1930, in Hampton, Iowa, the daughter of Glenn and Martha (Hansen) Stackhouse. Following graduation from Hampton Schools she married Gerald Fredericks on June 12, 1949 at The Church of Christ in Hampton; and worked as a secretary for the Hampton Soil Conservation Service until she started her family.

During her married life, aside from raising seven children, she taught bible school, Methodist Youth Fellowship, and junior choir at the Hansell United Methodist Church. She was also active in the United Methodist Women. In 1969, the family moved to Osage and she continued her involvement with youth, serving as a teacher’s helper at the Mitchell School. Donna was elected to the Osage Community School Board in 1977 and served for nine years.

Donna’s other interests included gardening, raising house plants, pets, piano, crocheting. In later years, she took up golf, a sport both her and Gerald could enjoy together. She loved spring and looked forward to all the outdoor activities, especially golf. At the age of 73, Donna shot a hole in one at Sunny Brae Golf Course. She enjoyed contributing and took her scrapbooking skills, which she so aptly used on her family, to make a scrapbook of the history of Sunny Brae Golf and Country Club. She also spent many years serving on various committees at Sunny Brae.

Donna moved to the Evergreen in Osage, in 2007, she fit right in and soon found herself, a self-taught pianist, playing for both the Evergreen and Faith Lutheran Home residents; it always brought some cheer to many that needed a lift. Following Gerald’s death in 2010, her Evergreen family became a huge part of her life. Donna’s involvement in the “Joy Givers” knitting and crochet group, which received the “KIMT Giving Your Best Award,” was a true passion in her life. Bridge, 500, Wee Bowling and the multitude of activities at the Evergreen, also filled her days with much joy. Besides her family and friends, her dog Missy was the love of her life and made every day a new day.

Donna is survived by her children, Wayne (Ruth) Fredericks of Osage, Al (Rose) Fredericks of Northwood, Bill Fredericks of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas, Sandy (Randy) Adams of Osage, Ivan (Robin) Fredericks of Northwood, and Dee Ann Fredericks (Paul Leinen) of Norwalk; her grandchildren, Angela (Ryan) Anderson, Tony Fredericks, Teri (Jay) Clough, Adam (Darcy) Steele, Eve (Leman) Northway, Kelly (Kent) Hinnen, Jessie (Marty) Miller, Tim (Jenny) Fredericks, Ashley Fredericks and Cody Fredericks; and 18 great-grandchildren.
