Obituary
Lois Marie Hansen, age 84, of Mc Intire Iowa passed away on Saturday, March 17th at Colonial Manor in Elma, Iowa, surrounded by her loving family. Visitation will be on Friday, March 23rd at 10:00 in Le Roy, Minnesota at the Grace Christian Church with the funeral service at 11:00. Burial will be in Wayne Cemetery rural Mc Intire, IA.
On September 29, 1933 Lois was born and delivered by her grandmother at a farm house between Riceville and New Haven. She later moved to a farm south of Riceville. She attended a one room country school house for 8 years and then went to high school in Riceville, Iowa. She attended college in Cedar Falls Iowa for one year.
She was united in marriage on January 10, 1953 to Galen Hansen of McIntire Iowa. They lived on a small farm southwest of LeRoy for two years before moving to Colorado Springs where Galen was enlisted in the army for two years. They then returned to McIntire, Iowa where they live to this day. Galen and Lois worked together closely to run all the operations of their business, Hansen Trucking.
Lois was preceded in death by her father Floyd Elliott, mother Grace Elliott, brother Lee Elliott, sister Linda Rhines, and many friends and relatives.
Lois and Galen had five children, Janis Bartlett of Minneapolis Minnesota, Becky Hoyt of Des Moines Iowa, Russell Hansen of Waterloo Iowa, Troy Hansen of McIntire Iowa, and Ryan Hansen of West Des Moines, Iowa. They also were blessed with 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Lois and Galen attended church at the Lutheran Church In LeRoy for many years and more recently at Grace Christian church, also in Le Roy. Lois made sure that all her children attended church and Sunday school and became God loving Christians.
In Lois's last moments she heard the voices of her loved ones singing songs of God's promises to her. How comforting for her to know her next recollection would be seeing Jesus face to face in her new heavenly home. May we comfort ourselves with these same thoughts.
