Lawrence Peter Hemann, age 84, of Osage, died peacefully Monday, February 26, 2018, at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota, surrounded by his family.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 3, 2018 at Sacred Heart Oratory in Meyer with Father Raymond Burkle officiating. Burial will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Osage, with military honors conducted by the Osage V.F.W. Post 7920. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage, with a 7:00 p.m. Knights of Columbus rosary.

Larry was born February 16, 1934, near Meyer, Iowa, the son of Edward F. and Lena (Klapperich) Hemann. He attended school in Meyer. Larry served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. On July 26, 1958, he married Rosemary Wegman at St. Charles Catholic Church in St. Charles, Minnesota. Larry and Rosemary farmed and raised their family on the family farm near Osage.

He was a milk hauler from 1957-1962 and was a soybean salesman for 32 years and sold Archer Oil. Larry was a member of Sacred Heart Church in Osage where he twice held offices on the Sacred Heart Parish Council. He was a Charter Member of the Osage Knights of Columbus, serving two terms as Grand Knight.

Larry was also a member of the Farm Bureau and was on the Osage Co-op Elevator Board for nine years and was an active member of the Osage V.F.W. Post where he served as Chaplin. He enjoyed woodworking, hunting, fishing, playing cards, restoring antique tractors and traveling with Rosemary. Larry loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Larry is survived by his wife, Rosemary Hemann of Osage; his children, Janice (Rick) Brownlee of Roseville, Minnesota, Judy Devorak of Rochester, Minnesota, Michael (Kim) Hemann of Fort Worth, Texas, Diane (Mike) Klemas of Mason City, Martin (Lori) Hemann of Fredericksburg, Dale (Cindy) Hemann of Osage; 13 grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Stella Weber and Margaret Hemann; and brothers, Walter, Alfred, Sylvester and Arnold Hemann.
