Margaret Frances Stangl, age 88, of Osage, Iowa, died Monday, November 20, 2017, at I.O.O.F. Home in Mason City, Iowa.

Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 25, 2017, at the Columbus Club, 1403 State Street in Osage with Father Raymond Burkle officiating. Burial will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home, with a Rosary at 10:00 a.m.

Margaret was born February 2, 1929, in Roselle, Iowa, in Carroll County, the daughter of Ted and Clara (Neppl) Vogt. She attended Carroll High School.

Margaret married Glenn Stangl on October 18, 1949, at St. Lawrence Church, in Carroll, Iowa. To this union, five children were born. Glenn, Margaret and family moved to Elma, Iowa, in Howard County, in 1971 from Atlantic, Iowa. They farmed for 42 years, retiring in 1991. Margaret was a member of Sacred Heart Guild and the Sacred Heart Covenant Singers. She enjoyed her daily walks, gardening, singing, traveling, crocheting, and spending time with her family.

Margaret is survived by five children: Judy Stangl (Life Partner, Joyce Black) of Springfield, Missouri, Randy (Janet) Stangl of Charles City, Jean (Darryl) Delfs of Council Bluffs, Janelle (Robert, Sr.) McDonough of Hermitage, Pennsylvania, Ron (Diane) Stangl of Charles City; four grandchildren: Matthew Stangl, Scott Stangl, Richard Delfs and Shanna Delfs; three great-grandchildren: Garrett, Collin and Carter Stangl; four step grandchildren; six step great-grandchildren; four sisters: Laura (Warren) Stangl of Claremont, Minnesota, Marilyn Bauer of Newell, Corrine (John) Gollibit of Pierce, Nebraska, and Bonnie Vogt of Carroll.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Glenn Stangl in 2011; three brothers: Lloyd, Dennis and Art Vogt; and by two sisters, Velma Masching and Mardell Phipps.
