Charlotte B. Pitzen, age 97, of Stacyville, Iowa, died Monday, October 23, 2017, at the Mitchell County Regional Health Center in Osage, Iowa.

Cremation has taken place.

Private graveside inurnment services will be held at a later date.

Charlotte was born February 15, 1920, on the family farm near New Haven, the daughter of Herbert and Catherine (Carroll) Fox. She attended school at St. Mary’s Academy in New Haven and graduated from there in 1938.

Charlotte was united in marriage to Al Pitzen in 1940, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in New Haven. She was employed for many years as an aide at the Stacyville Community Nursing Home and then at the Mitchell County Hospital in Osage.

Charlotte was a member of the Visitation Catholic Church in Stacyville.

Charlotte is survived by her four sons, Gary Pitzen of Chicago, Illinois, Joe Pitzen of Stacyville, David (Verla) Pitzen of Henderson, Nevada, Don (special friend, Carol Hamilton) of Osage; two grandsons, Michael Pitzen and William (Karla) Pitzen and their two children.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Al in 1974; sister, Eileen Fox and brother, Peter Fox.
