Lloyd Dale Johnson, 83, of Osage, died Monday, July 24, 2017, at Osage Rehabilitation and Health Care Center.

Funeral services will be held at noon Thursday, July 27, 2017, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Osage with the Rev. Bruce Kaltwasser officiating. Burial will be in the Osage Cemetery with flag presentation conducted by Osage VFW Post 7920. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Thursday at Trinity Lutheran Church, 402 State Street, Osage, Iowa. Following the services there will be a time for food and fellowship.

Lloyd was born May 31, 1934, in Kingsford Michigan, the son of Robert and Evelyn (Pesciarelli) Johnson. He graduated from Kingsford High School in 1952. Lloyd then attended and graduated from Michigan College of Mining and Technology, now known as Michigan Tech. He served his country in the US Army during the Korean War.

Lloyd married Diane Thayer on March 22, 1958 at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Kingsford, Michigan. He worked for Rockwell-Collins, Honeywell, Bendix, Kartridge Pak and Kaiser Hanford Company. His hobbies included photography, distance running, cycling, computers, bowling and golf. He enjoyed canoe trips, nature walks and waterfalls. Lloyd was known for his good humor.

Lloyd is survived by his children, Kimberly (Mike) Lewis of Osage, Leslie (Alan) Nichols of Evansdale, Casey (Rebecca) Johnson of Clive; 11 grandchildren, Kristin (Perry Strahl) Lewis of Encinitas, California, Brian Lewis of San Diego, California, Brooke Lewis of Orchard, Tanner Lewis of Osage, Shannon (Jered) Engel of Raymond, Jacob (Betsie Driscoll) Nichols of Waterloo, Daniel (Hannah) Nichols of Cedar Rapids, Maggie Nichols of Evansdale, Benjamin Nichols of Evansdale, Tyler Johnson of Clive, and Olivia Johnson of Clive; eight great-grandchildren; brother, Robert (Jan) Johnson of Waupaca, Wisconsin; and sister, Sandra (Tom) Boucher of Luxemburg, Wisconsin.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife Diane E. Johnson in 2012.
