Donna Wagner, age 82, of Stacyville, Iowa, died Sunday, May 21, 2017, at the Stacyville Community Nursing Home.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 25, 2017, at Visitation Catholic Church in Stacyville, Iowa, with Father Raymond Burkle and Monsignor John Hemann officiating. Burial will be at Visitation Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at Visitation Catholic Church in Stacyville with a rosary at 5:30 p.m. and a vigil service at 7:00 p.m.

Donna was born July 4, 1934, at Stacyville, Iowa, the daughter of Paul and Rose (King) Huemann. She graduated from Visitation High School in 1952.

On May 5, 1956, Donna married Gene Wagner at Visitation Catholic Church in Stacyville. She was a very active member of Visitation Catholic Church. Donna enjoyed bowling, dancing, traveling, and trips to the casino. She was also an avid sports fan. Most of all, Donna was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved cooking and baking for her family, and will be remembered by her grandchildren for making the best chocolate chip cookies. Family gatherings to celebrate her Fourth of July birthday were always very special times for Donna and her family.

Donna is survived by her six children: Mike (Nancy) Wagner of Eagan, Minnesota, Gary (Valerie) Wagner of Northwood, Russ (Julie) Wagner of Apple Valley, Minnesota, Karen (Del) Gast of Osage, Pat (Deanne) Wagner of Stacyville, and Kristie (John) Greenstreet of Clive; by 12 grandchildren: Emily Wagner, Jared Wagner, Ben Wagner, Cory (Amy) Wagner, Matthew (Kimberly) Wagner, Luke Wagner, Carly Gast, Jessie Gast, Steven (Rhondi) Wagner, Marissa (William) Mayer, Taylor Wagner, and Cole Greenstreet; by four great-grandchildren: Coralyn and Zander Wagner, Grey Mayer, and Henley Wagner; a brother-in-law, Robert Mayer of Stacyville; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Gene Wagner in 2016; her son, Paul Anthony Wagner; two sisters, Bernice Hackenmiller and Darlene “Pooch” Mayer; and by two brothers, Leon Huemann and Larry Huemann.
