Annabelle V. "Anna" Miller, age 88 of Austin, Minnesota, died suddenly on Wednesday, April 5, 2017 at Mayo Clinic Health System, Austin.
Anna was born June 10, 1928 in Meyer, Iowa, to Joseph and Katherine (Hemann) Koenigs. Anna was united in marriage to Ivan Mathias Miller on October 17, 1946 in Meyer, Iowa. In 1950, Ivan’s employment with Hormel brought them to Austin where she lived until moving to Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota in 2016.
Anna was a longtime active member of St. Augustine Catholic Church in Austin. She enjoyed going to Mass, playing cards, listening to polka music, and getting together with friends. Anna’s greatest joy was being with her family.
Anna is survived by her children Kenny (Maggie) Miller of New Port Richey, Florida, Diane (Arol) McCaslin of Spring Valley, Minnesota, Jane (Dr. Joseph) Costa of Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota, Bob (Jean) Miller of Byron, Minnesota, and Mary Lou Prescher (Jim Power) of Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; sisters: Johanna Mullenbach, Bernadette Kraus and Martha Boe; sisters-in-law, Maggie Judd and Mary Ellen Miller; nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Ivan in 1987; son Daniel in 2014.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Austin with Fr. James Steffes officiating. Interment will be in the Calvary Cemetery in Austin. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 P.M. on Tuesday at Worlein Funeral Home with a 4:00 P.M. parish Rosary, and visitation will continue for one hour prior to Mass on Wednesday afternoon at church. There will be a time for those that wish to share stories and memories of Anna starting at 6:30 P.M. Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers memorials in Anna’s memory may be directed to St. Augustine Catholic Church or the American Heart Association. Services prearranged and performed by Worlein Funeral Home. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.worlein.com.
