OSAGE, IOWA — LuVerne Wagner, 88, of Osage, died Wednesday, February 15, 2017, at Faith Lutheran Home in Osage.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Feb. 20, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Osage with Father Raymond Burkle officiating.

Burial will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage, with a Knights of Columbus Rosary at 4:30 p.m.

Died February 15, 2017

LuVerne Earnest Wagner, age 88, of Osage, passed away Wednesday, February 15, 2017, at Faith Lutheran Home in Osage.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, February 20, 2017, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Osage with Father Raymond Burkle officiating. Burial will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage with a Knights of Columbus Rosary at 4:30 p.m.

LuVerne was born April 4, 1928, on the family farm near Osage, the son of Earnest and Mildred (Tibbitts) Wagner. He attended country school in Mitchell County. He married the love of his life, Louise M. Frascht, on September 30, 1946, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Greene. LuVerne farmed with his dad on the family farm east of Osage until 1968. LuVerne and Louise managed the Arcade Lunch, in Osage for 20 years.

After retirement, he worked for Galen Wagner. He was an active member of the Knights of Columbus. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He loved spending time with his family. LuVerne liked to hunt, fish and play cards. He enjoyed playing golf, pool and bowling with his friends and family. LuVerne was a very loving man, spending a lot of his life caring for his wife and family members.

LuVerne is survived by his children, son Darrell Wagner of El Paso, Texas and his four children: Aaron (Tracy) Wagner and Kim (Chad) Pennington; daughter, Linda Paulus of Rockford and her eight children: Dena (Marcus) Majerczyk, Robyn Copney, Derek (Julie) Paulus, Rykel (Spencer) Blunt, Ryan (Tarah) Paulus, Dusten (Katie) Paulus, Danyel (David) Reiter and Riley Paulus; daughter, Janet (Mark) Taets of Osage and their five children: Scott (Steph) Taets, Wayne (Megan) Taets, Matt (Yana) Taets, Andy (Samantha) Taets and Libby (Jason) Wellman; youngest son, Darwin Wagner of Northwood and his two children, Kyle (Jill) Wagner and Kacey (David) Jeannot; 34 great-granchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter. Special friends, Mary (Wagner) Nondorf, Cheryl (Wagner) Hemann and Rick Paulus.

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Louise in 2015; and one sister, Bernadine Tjaden.
