August 5, 1947 - January 27, 2016

Shirley LaDonna Nitschke, 68 of Fort Smith, passed away Wednesday, January 27, 2016, in Fort Smith. Mrs. Nitschke was born August 5, 1947 in Osage, Iowa. Shirley loved to read, she treasured spending time with her family, she enjoyed playing games on Facebook, her true love, was her family.

Mrs. Nitschke is preceded in death by her mother and stepfather, Edith Duncan Juenger and Luke Juenger, grandparents, Curtis and Wilma Duncan, her husband Jerry Nitschke, and one daughter Cristy Presley.

Mrs. Nitschke is survived by her daughter, Sheila and Joe Taylor of Fort Smith; three sisters, Bev and Duane Steiger of Osage, Iowa, Dixie and Ron Timmerman of Popular Grove, Illinois., and Deb Lee of Midwest City, Oklahoma; three brothers, Tom and Kris Juenger of Garner, Iowa, Darrell and Venila Bublitz of Spring Grove, Minnesota, and Dale and Kathy Bublitz of Blooming Prairie, Minnesota; a sister in law, Gloria and George Vaughn of Cotter; aunt, Erma Duponcheele; two grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and many other family members and friends.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
