ST. ANSGAR — Ruth Roehr, 100, of St. Ansgar, died Sunday, Oct. 2, 2016 at the Good Samaritan Center, St. Ansgar.

Arrangements are pending with Schroeder & Sites Funeral Home, St. Ansgar.

Obituary--
Ruth Roehr was born July 29, 1916 near Beaman in Marshall County, Iowa to William and Vivian (Poland) Nickerson.

At an early age, they moved to a farm near Plymouth, , and then to a farm near Grafton, IA, where they lived for many years. She attended Carpenter Consolidated School, graduating in 1933.

Ruth was baptized in the Methodist Church in Carpenter, Iowa. She married Harold Brown on August 22, 1936 and joined Deer Creek Lutheran Church.

Two children were born to them, Judy Jacobsen of LeRoy, Minnesota, and Janice Roe of St. Louis Park, Minnesota. Janice passed away on July 29, 2000.

Ruth worked with her husband at the Carpenter Produce for 23 years. Harold passed away March 1, 1971. She then worked at the Cedar Valley State Bank for nine years.

She married Leonard Roehr in October 1972. Leonard passed away April 1982.

Ruth was a delightful person, always sharing her smiles and funny stories. She found the positive in every situation and loved her family very much. Every visit to Ruth was filled with fun and laughter.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, two husbands, one daughter, four sister-in-laws and four brother-in-laws.

Survivors include: one daughter, Judy Jacobsen and husband Robert of LeRoy, Minnesota; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law; and many nieces and nephews.

NOTES:

Her second husband was Leonard Gustav Louis E. Roehr, born 23 APR 1909, and died 20 APR 1982. Leonard had two previous wives, 1) Evelyn Markow, and 2) Ilene Mae Lines.
