Dorothy Allene Klimek 1943-2016

Dorothy Allene Klimek, 73, of Hayfield, Minnesota, passed away on August 17, 2016, at her home in Hayfield.

She was born on February 23, 1943, the daughter of Raymond and Gertrude (Wolf) Mauer in Osage, Iowa. She attended Visitation School and High School in Stacyville, Iowa. Dorothy was united in marriage to Wilbert Klimek on May 22, 1981, at Fort Snelling Chapel in Minneapolis.

Dorothy worked as a keypunch operator in Fridley, Minnesota, and for West Central Turkey in Pelican Rapids. She and Wilbert lived in Pelican Rapids before moving to Hayfield in 1996. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting prayer shawls and reading.

Dorothy is survived by siblings, James (Mary) Mauer of Lisle, Illinois, Janice (Clem) Loecher of Osage, Don (Bonnie) Mauer of Naperville, Illinois, Jerry (Carol) Mauer of Peoria, Illinois, Carol (Paul) Tilkes of Austin, Minnesota, Joyce (Richard) Hanke of Lakeville, Minnesota; and sister-in-law, Joanne Mauer of Stacyville.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Robert; and husband, Wilbert.

The funeral Mass for Dorothy Allene Klimek will be 11 a.m. Saturday, August 20, 2016, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church 150 Second St. NE with Father John Traufler Celebrating. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery in Hayfield, Minnesota.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the time of service at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Saturday.
