Thomas Stolzenberg 1947-2016

Thomas Stolzenberg, 69, of Lake City, Minnesota, passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on Monday, August 1, 2016.

Thomas was born May 3, 1947 in Osage, Iowa, to Sylvester and Margaret Stolzenberg. He married Kathryn Madson in Austin, Minnesota, at St Augusta Catholic Church on March 15, 1969. In 1977, a job opportunity brought his family to Lake City. Thomas spent 28 years working at the Flour Mill in Lake City and retired in 2009. In retirement, he did part time seasonal work for Ag Partners driving a fertilizer truck.

Thomas enjoyed deer and pheasant hunting, fishing and boating on Lake Pepin, camping and being with family and friends. He was also very handy and could fix just about anything.

Tom is survived by his three sons: Brett (Christina) of Sauk Rapids, Minnesota, Neil (Kristie) of Lake City, and Adam (Kati) of St. Louis, Missouri. He is also survived by his seven beloved grandchildren: Jacob, Samuel, Zachary, Sydnee, Lauryn, Will and Maggie; sister, Carla Meyerhofer of Hilton Head, South Carolina; Rosalee Lowe of Stacyville, Iowa; Mary Kreitlow of Ansonia, Connecticut; and Marjean Kramer of Orchard, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his wife, Kathryn; his parents; and brother, Tim.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, August 10, 2016, at St. Mary's of the Lake Catholic Church in Lake City with Father Joseph Pete officiating. Burial will be at Grandview Cemetery in Austin, Minnesota. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday at Mahn Family Funeral Home Anderson-Peterson Chapel in Lake City and one hour before the service at the church.
