DEATH NOTICE:

Judenne “Judy” Morrison Kocer, age 72, of Cedar Rapids, died Friday, January 15, 2016, at the home of her daughter, Mindy, in Kansas City, Missouri.

Cremation has taken place.

Graveside inurnment services will be held at a later date at the Osage Cemetery.

Judenne “Judy” Morrison Kocer, age 72, of Cedar Rapids, died Friday, January 15, 2016, at the home of her daughter, Mindy, in Kansas City, Missouri. Cremation has taken place.

Graveside inurnment services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 30, 2016, at the Osage Cemetery with Pastor Charles Owens officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the United Church of Christ in Osage or the Humane Society.

Judy was born May 29, 1943, in Cresco, Iowa, the daughter of Max and Leone (Folsom) Morrison. She attended grade school in Orchard, graduated from Osage High School in 1961, and from La James College of Cosmetology in Mason City in 1972. Judy owned a beauty shop in Osage in the 1970’s and was a self-employed cosmetologist in Cedar Rapids since 1980. She was a member of the United Church of Christ. Judy was a past worthy advisor of Order of Rainbow for Girls. She also did volunteer work with the Alzheimer’s and American Cancer Societies.

Judy is survived by her children, Melinda Whitmer (fiancé Chris Van Fleet) of Kansas City, Missouri, and Myron “Mike” (Ann) Hein of Osage; her grandchildren, Danielle Keeler, Amber Whitmer, Rachel Whitmer, Sarah Hein, Samantha Groh and Sydney Hartogh; her brothers, Larry (Cheri) Morrison of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Richard (Sharolyn) Morrison of Albert Lea, Minnesota.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Murray Morrison; and a nephew, David Todd Morrison.
