Audrey M. (Monson, Tharp, Munson, White) Meuers

ST. ANSGAR, IOWA — Audrey M. (Monson, Tharp, Munson, White) Meuers, 91, passed away April 19, 2016, at the Good Samaritan Center, St. Ansgar.

Funeral service will be on Saturday, April 23, 2016, at 1:30 p.m. at Schroeder & Sites Funeral Home, St. Ansgar.

Burial will be in the St. Ansgar Cemetery.

Audrey was born November 23, 1924, in Wahkon, Minnesota, to Stella and Roy Monson. She completed 10th grade in Wahkon, and as an adult she got her GED and a L.P.N. certificate. When she was young she left for California to marry her love Earl Tharp on 7/13/41. To this union Leslie Earl was born. Earl was killed in action in 1943. She then married Merle Munson and to this union was born 3 children: Warren, Marilyn and Marlin. Merle was killed in action in 1950. She was then united in marriage to Donald White and to this union Jeffrey was born. Donald passed away in 1989. Not to give up on love she married Virgil Meuers: he passed away in 1996.

Audrey was a wonderful wife, an exceptional mother and grandmother. She was a friend to everyone she met.

Her greatest loves beyond her family were her flowers and her dogs. Every dog was hers in her mind in the past year.

She is survived by her daughter Marilyn (David) Rosel, North Dakota, sons Marlin (Darlene) Munson, Oklahoma, and Jeff (Theresa) White, Iowa; eight grandchildren: Brad, Jennifer, Leslie Ann, Tyler, Alex, April, Krystal, and Cody; 19 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She is also survived by one sister, Lois Berg, and one brother Devere (Sandy); and also by many nieces, nephews, step-children and step-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by infant son Warren, son Leslie and one sister, Onnolee. She will be greatly missed by her whole family and everyone who knew her.
