Marjorie (Fox) Lewis Pelleymounter, age 88, of Osage, passed away Sunday, March 13, 2016, at Good Shepherd Health Center in Mason City.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 18, 2016, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Osage with Monsignor John Hemann officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 5:30 p.m. Thursday at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage with a rosary at 4:15 p.m. Rev. Kent A. Mechler, Chaplain at Good Shepherd Health Center, will officiate at a prayer service that will be held at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Following the visitation, cremation will take place with inurnment at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Osage.
Marjorie was born June 30, 1927, on the family farm in East Lincoln Township, Mitchell County, Iowa, the daughter of Walter and Ruth (Gray) Fox. She graduated from St. Mary’s High School, New Haven, in 1944 and from Hamilton Business School in 1945. Following graduation, she worked in various secretarial positions in Des Moines, including State of Iowa Tax Commission and Solar Aircraft.
Marjorie was united in marriage to Robert J. Lewis on November 25, 1946, at St. Ambrose Cathedral in Des Moines, Iowa. They had five children: Jerry, Kathy, Linda, Jim and Mary Jane. Robert died October 22, 1959, in Des Moines.
In December of 1959, Marjorie and her family moved to Osage. She worked as secretary for the Sacred Heart Church and School from 1960-1972 before becoming office manager for Erdmann Motor Co. and retired after 17 years. Marjorie was married to Roman Pelleymounter on February 7, 1976, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Osage. She was an active member of the Sacred Heart Church and Guild, American Legion Auxiliary, V.F.W. Auxiliary, and the D.A.R.
Marjorie is survived by her children, Kathy (Jim) McGowan of Marietta, Georgia, Linda (Keith) Brunsvold of Mason City, Jim (Julie) Lewis of Joplin, Missouri, Mary Jane (Brooks) Worthing of Carlsbad, California; granddaughters, Tara Brunsvold (Brad) Hofer, Bobbi Jo Brunsvold (Blaine) Perau, Alycia Brunsvold (Will) Thomsen, Bianca Rucireta, Sophia Rucireta, Miranda Rand, Alyssa Rand; grandsons, Michael McGowan, Nic Lewis; great-grandchildren, Chase, Kade and Brielle Hofer, Eloise Perau, Jack and Anna Thomsen, and Zander Spears; four brothers, Jim (Dorothy) Fox of Osage, Tom (Bernadine) Fox of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Joe (Kathy) Fox of Newport Beach, California, Ed (Donna) Fox of Fort Mills, South Carolina; two sisters, Dorothy Popp and Carolyn (Duane) Johnson of Osage; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Robert J. Lewis; her second husband, Roman Pelleymounter; infant son, Jerry Lewis; great-grandson, Benaiah Hofer; two year old sister, Marian Alice Fox; and brother, Kent Fox.
