David "Gabby" Howland

September 8, 1947 - March 9, 2016

David "Gabby" Howland, age 68, of Riceville passed away at the Mitchell County Regional Health Center on Wednesday March 9, 2016.

Gabby was born in Cresco, Iowa on September 8, 1947 to Raymond and Lovene Eaton Howland. He attended local schools and graduated from Riceville High School. He served in the US Army from 1966 – 1968. He was united in marriage to Vicki Mauer on August 17, 1974 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Riceville. He was employed by Farmer's Feed and Grain in Riceville. He enjoyed hunting and playing pool.

Survivors include his wife, Vicki of Riceville; his sons, Justin (Briana) Howland of Osage and Brandon Howland of Osage and his girlfriend Cambria Berentsen; three grandchildren: Beckett, Jovie, and Lennon; brothers: Robert and his wife Karen of Cedar Falls, Iowa, Thomas and his wife Diane of Riceville, Iowa, and Timothy and his wife Cindy of Protivin, Iowa and a sister Donna Penning and her husband Lee of San Jose, CA.

He was preceded in death by his parents Raymond and Lovene.
