Ruth Helen Jensen, 94, passed away on March 5, 2016, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Home in Sauk Rapids, Minnesota.

Ruth was born on November 26, 1921, the daughter of Maurice and Louisa (Tesch) Edge in Rock Township, Mitchell County, Iowa. She was united in marriage to Anton Jensen on January 7, 1943, at Trinity Lutheran Parsonage in Hayfield. They celebrated 50 years together and lived in Sargeant most of that time. Ruth worked at many jobs over the years. She was an elementary school cook, home care aide, sales clerk at the Sargeant Coop, and cleaning lady in Rochester. She made many quilts, enjoyed crafting, researched genealogy, and collected stamps and coins. Reading was a passion of hers. She also served in many capacities at her church.

Ruth is survived by her daughter, Joyce (Michael) Fossum, St. Cloud, Minnesota; one granddaughter, Kari (Nick) Eagle, Leavenworth, Kansas; and one great-granddaughter, Gloriana Eagle. She is survived by her brothers, Charles and David Edge, Stewartville, Minnesota, James (Marian) Edge, Grand Meadow, Minnesota; one sister, Shirley Bethke, Brighton, Colorado; and triplet brothers, Jene, Jay, and Jerry Hinrichs.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Anton; and three brothers, Myron, Kenneth, and Maurice Edge.

The family would like to express special thanks to Field Crest Care Center and Good Shepherd Lutheran Home for the loving care given over the years.

The funeral service for Ruth Helen Jensen will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 9, 2016, at Evanger Lutheran Church 33554 — 660th Avenue, rural Sargeant, Minnesota, with the Rev. Dwight DoBell officiating. Interment will be in Evanger Lutheran Church Cemetery, Minnesota. Friends and family may call at 1 p.m. on Wednesday for visitation prior to the service.
