Died January 26, 2016

Clinton George Mitchell, age 91, of Osage, died Tuesday, January 26, 2016, at Mitchell County Regional Health Center Hospice Unit in Osage.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 30, 2016, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Osage with Rev. Bruce Kaltwasser officiating. Inurnment will be at the Osage Cemetery. There will be a gathering of family and friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday at Trinity Lutheran Church, 402 State Street, Osage, Iowa.

Clinton was born October 10, 1924, in Algona, Iowa, the son of Brodie and Bertha (Carrison) Mitchell. At a young age, he moved with his family to the Burr Oak area. Clinton attended country school.

On November 7, 1954, he married Cleo Miller at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Osage. Clinton farmed, drove truck for Canny Livestock and worked for Osage Municipal Utilities until his retirement. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Osage. Clinton enjoyed gardening, woodworking, having coffee at Hardee’s, and visiting with anyone he met. He especially enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s events,

Clinton is survived by his wife, Cleo Mitchell of Osage; his children, Dennis (Melanie) Mitchell of Mason City, Dwight (Karla) Mitchell, and Diane (Greg) Condon, all of Osage; grandchildren, Brodie (Heather) Mitchell of St. Ansgar, Jordon (Hilary) Mitchell of Osage, Bethany Condon of Iowa City, and Brett Condon of Sioux City; great-grandchildren, Layna, Brevin, Mylah, and Brayden; brother, Lester (Oma) Mitchell of Red Oak, Texas; brothers-in-law, Clayton Werner and Arthur (Connie) Berge, all of Osage, and Oral (Joan) Miller of Casper, Wyoming; and aunt, Gladys Putnam of Osage.

Clinton was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Lloyd Mitchell and Charles Mitchell; and sisters, Florence Werner, Dorothy Ehlke, and Mary Berge.
