Eldon A Groth – September 27, 1931 --- December 27, 2015

Eldon Groth, 84, of Saratoga, Iowa passed away on December 27, 2015 at Mitchell County Regional Health Center in Osage, Iowa.

Eldon was born to Harry and Alice (Lubbert) Groth on September 27, 1931 in the Elma Hospital. He graduated from Riceville High School in 1950. After graduation he worked at the Maple Leaf Creamery a short time and started farming. Eldon married Norma Johann on May 7, 1953 at the Zion Lutheran Church in Alta Vista. Over the next ten years they had their two children and farmed different area farms before purchasing the Groth family farm in 1960. There they farmed along with milking cows until 1978 and then continued farming until 1982 when they moved to their home in Saratoga. Eldon loved his family, attended numerous sporting events, played cards with neighbors, drove school bus, helped neighbors, did woodworking projects, served on various Boards, faithfully worked and worshipped at St. Paul's Maple Leaf Church.

Survivors include his wife, Norma of Saratoga; his son Randall (Jo) Groth of Plainfield, IA; his daughter Barbara (Roger) Gesell of Elma, IA; his grandchildren: Jill (Erik) Smith, Jessica Groth, Malinda (Reed) Mick, Ben (Alannah Olson) Groth, Adam (Dawn Dyer) Gesell, and Becky (Dave Hoehne) Gesell; 5 great grandchildren and one sister, Elaine Eschweiler of Riceville, IA.He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Merle Groth, and one grandson Allen Paul Ges
