Obituary for Thomas Loren Selvig

Thomas Loren Selvig, 56, of Riceville, Iowa passed away Sunday, November 29, 2015, at Mercy Medical Center in Mason City, Iowa. Tom's wishes were to be cremated. Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 3, at the Lindstrom Funeral Home in Riceville from 4 – 7 PM. There will be no formal services, burial will be at a later date.

Tom was born in Charles City on November 14, 1959, son of Carl (Mike) and Irene Schoborg Selvig. He graduated from Charles City High School in 1978. On August 22, 1980, he was united in marriage to Ellen Jennison at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Riceville. To this union, two daughters were born, Jen and Katie. He was a press operator at RR Donnelly in Osage, Iowa. Tom loved spending time with his grandkids, golfing, and gambling. He always looked forward to the annual trip to Biloxi, Mississippi, with all of his good friends.

Tom is survived by his wife, Ellen of Riceville, two daughters: Jen (Barry) Smith of Lime Springs, Iowa, and Katie (Marshall) Dvorak of Riceville; four grandchildren: Owen and Avah Smith and Kylie and Ellie Dvorak; and three brothers: Michael (Linda) Selvig of Rudd, Iowa, Richard Selvig of Charles City, Iowa and John (Beverly) Selvig of Charles City, Iowa.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
