Duane Lee Shoger was born March 26, 1945 at Osage, Mitchell, Iowa to Frederick Irving Shoger and Gladys Mabel Olson, the youngest of their three children.

Duane was baptized on May 27, 1945 at the Rock Creek Lutheran Church at Meroa, Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa. He was confirmed at Rock Creek Lutheran also.

Duane Shoger died from injuries sustained in a car accident on August 2, 1964 in rural Mitchell County, Iowa.

He was buried at the Rock Creek Lutheran Church Cemetery at Meroa, Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa.
