OSAGE,IOWA - Elaine L. Hartwig, 89, formerly of Stewartville, Minnesota, died Wednesday, October 21, 2015, at Maple Manor Nursing Home in Rochester, Minnesota.

Services are pending at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage.

Elaine L. Hartwig

(Died October 21, 2015)

Elaine L. Hartwig, age 89, of Rochester, Minnesota, and formerly of Osage, died Wednesday, October 21, 2015, at Maple Manor Nursing Home in Rochester, Minnesota.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, October 24, 2015, at Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage with Pastor Byron Northwick officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Osage Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to your favorite charity.

Elaine was born May 21, 1926, in Grafton, Iowa, the daughter of Arthur and Elvira (Christofferson) Albrecht. She graduated from Osage High School in 1942. On December 19, 1943, Elaine married Harland Hartwig at Trinity Lutheran Church in Osage. They moved from Osage in 1976. Elaine enjoyed bowling, ladies bridge club, and couples card club.

Elaine is survived by two sons, David (Barb) Hartwig of Rochester, Minnesota, and Mark (Mary) Hartwig of Elgin, Illinois; a daughter, Robyn Hartwig of Rochester, Minnesota; grandchildren, Heath (Melissa) Hartwig of Pine Island, Minnesota, Heather Hartwig of St. Paul, Minnesota, Marilee (Paul) Tuite of Minneapolis, Minnesota, and Geoff (Vanessa) Reu of Chicago, Illinois; great-grandchildren, Isabelle and Gabriel Hartwig, John and Audrey Tuite, Xavier and Zadie Reu; a brother, Melvin (Yvonne) Albrecht of Le Roy, Minnesota; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harland Hartwig in 2005; a sister, Dorothy Fisher; and a brother, Arthur Albrecht.
