Died October 12, 2015

Glennys Thomas Lunde, age 74, of Osage, died Monday, October 12, 2015, at Mitchell County Regional Health Center in Osage.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, October 16, 2015, at Rock Creek Lutheran Church, 3269 Foothill Avenue, Osage, Iowa, with Pastor David A. Werges and Pastor Roy Ott officiating. Burial will be in the Rock Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage.

Glennys was born October 31, 1940, in Osage, Iowa, the son of Gaylord and Ruth (Hvattum) Lunde. He was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Osage. Glennys graduated from Osage Community High School in 1959.

On August 13, 1967, he married Jean Raisch at Trinity Lutheran Church in Rupert, Idaho. Glennys farmed for over 50 years on a farm that has been in his family for over 100 years. A lifelong Lutheran, he was a member of Rock Creek Lutheran Church, where he served as a deacon, trustee, Sunday School teacher, and as president of the Rock Creek Church Men. He also served on the Faith Lutheran Home Board. Glennys was a member of the Boy Scouts of America and received the honor of Eagle Scout.

He enjoyed listening to the radio, fishing, playing cards, spending time with family and friends, happy hour with loved ones and friends, and making people laugh. Glennys had a fierce love for his country, God, and most importantly, his family.

Glennys is survived by his wife, Jean Lunde of Osage; his children, Gregory Lunde of Marion, Angela (Jay) Montgomery of Monticello, Minnesota, and Matthew (Allyson) Lunde of Woodbury, Minnesota; his grandchildren, Jackson Montgomery, Autumn Montgomery, Aiden Lunde, and Austin Lunde; sister, Sharon (Larry) Ellingson of Strasburg, North Dakota; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Marilyn (Bob) Friday of Meridian, Idaho, Kathryn (Lynn) Nokes of Garden Valley, Idaho, and Dennis (Michele) Raisch of Albuquerque, New Mexico; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his twin sister, Opal Lunde; father-in-law, Norman Raisch; mother-in-law, Dorothe Raisch; and brother-in-law, Larry Ellingson.
