Obituary for Gary F. Foster

Gary Frank Foster, age 70, of Riceville, passed away Monday, September 28, 2015 at Mercy Medical Center, Mason City, Iowa.

Gary was born on February 19, 1945 at Riceville to Loyd and Geraldine (House) Foster. Gary attended Riceville Community School and graduated in 1963. He married Janice Goodale of Little Cedar, in 1999. A daughter, Sheena, was born to this union.

He was a self-employed semi-truck driver for many years, driving for local grain elevators. He really enjoyed his business, but later retired due to health issues.

Gary was an avid sports fan watching the NFL games, major league baseball and college football games on television. He enjoyed music, especially the “oldies.” Gary read many magazines, newspapers and books about a variety of subjects. He loved the outdoors-camping, hunting, fishing, boating and spending time with his wife and daughter. They loved to go on vacation and sight-seeing trips. Visiting with friends was a heart-felt joy for Gary.

Gary is survived by his wife, Janice, and daughter, Sheena.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
