Linda Lou (Golly) Hundt – June 21, 1946 – September 11, 2015
Linda Hundt, 69, of Charles City, passed away Friday, September 11, 2015 at the Floyd County Medical Center surrounded by her loving family.
Linda's wishes were to have a Celebration of Life, replacing the traditional funeral services. Please join Linda's family and friends September 27, 2015 at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Charles City from 12-3 p.m. to celebrate her life by sharing stories and memories of her time spent with us.
Linda Lou (Golly) Hundt, the daughter of Robert and Charlotte (Goodale) Golly, was born on June 21, 1946 in Osage, Iowa. She attended Deerfield #3 school then Cowell and graduated from New Hampton High School in 1964. While in high school Linda, a cheerleader for New Hampton, met the love of her life a wrestler/football player, William (Bill) Hundt of Charles City. They were united in marriage on September 26, 1964 in Elma, Iowa. They made their home in the Charles City area where they raised their two children: Bryan and Brenda (Missy). She retired from both MidAmerican Energy and CUS Bank. Over the years Linda and Bill together enjoyed golfing, motorcycles, snowmobiling and bicycling together. She enjoyed tending to her flowers, feeding and watching the birds, shopping, being outdoors and visiting the casino. Most of all Linda cherished the time spent with her family and friends. Her smile and laughter, along with her caring and friendly personality will be greatly missed.
Living family members include her husband, Bill Hundt of Charles City; son, Bryan (Robin) Hundt of Glenwood; daughter Brenda (Mark) Eakes of Charles City; six grandchildren: Shannon, Jim, Steven, Michelle, Sami and Allie; two great grandchildren: Junior and Christopher; a sister, Patricia (Bob) Lockwood of Charles City; two brothers: Harold (Priscilla) Golly of Austin, Minnesota, and Ken (Kathy) Golly of Charles City; along with many nieces, nephews, family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Golly on August 30, 1989 and Charlotte Golly on December 29, 2000.
