RESIDENT DIES

Frederick McCloud, a former well-known resident of McIntire, passed away September 17, 1943, at Los Alamitos, California. Newspaper clippings sent to this office give the following information:

"A resident of New Westminster, Frederick W. McCloud, 84, of 126 16th Street, died today in Los Alamitos. A native of Elgin, Illinois, he had lived in California for 16 years.

"He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Emma Powell McCloud; a daughter, Mrs. Hazel Tyler, of Stacyville; three sons: Powell W. of Wilcox, Arizona, Sidney, of Oak Lawn, Illinois, and Oakley, of Rochester, Minnesota; also four grandchildren: Gwenith Collins, of Des Moines, Betty Comer of Inlewood, California, Kay McCloud, Missing in action in France, Mason McCloud, of the U.S. Army; five great-grandchildren, including Mrs. Gwenith Collins of Boone, who formerly lived at McIntire; a granddaughter, Mrs. Ida Brown, lives at Inglewood, California.

"Mr. McCloud was town marshal at McIntire for 15 years and was active in the civic life of the community.

"Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. from the Winbigler Memorial chapel in charge of the Rev. G.N. Green, pastor of the Westminster Presbyterian church assisted by the Rev. Burman. Interment was at Westminster Memorial Park."
