RICEVILLE MAN
TAKES OWN LIFEEdward McIllravy, 54, of Riceville, committed suicide by hanging, last Friday morning, in the Ray Richardson stock building, where he worked. The report was made by Coroner E. Bradley of Cresco. The Richardson business is just over the line in Howard county, in the town of Riceville.
The body was found hanging from a beam shortly before 8 o'clock by Tom Duffy who immediately summoned help.
Relatives believe the act was committed because of despondency as Mr. McIllravy had been in poor health for a long time. He had been residing at the house of Mrs. Myron B____ and had left there at 7:39 o'clock to go to work.
Funeral service was held at the Riceville funeral home Sunday afternoon, and burial was made in Riverside cemetery at Riceville.
He is survived by one sister, Mrs. Griffin of McIntire.
