BURIAL RITES HERE
SUNDAY AFTERNOON

The remains of John Wesley Mackey, former Mitchell county resident, were brought here from Atlantic Sunday for burial on the family plot. Death was due to a stroke of paralysis.

John Wesley Mackey was born November 18, 1863. He was the son of Thomas and Eliza Mackey. He was born in Mitchell county, Iowa, but later in life moved to Atlantic, where he was living at the time of his death.

Survivors are a sister, Mrs. Nettie Douglas, of Concrete, Washington; five nephews and six nieces, all former residents of Osage, Iowa.

Mr. Mackey was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and a brother.

Burial was in Osage cemetery at 2:00 p.m. Sunday. The graveside service was conducted by the Rev. John D. Kern of the local Baptist church.

Attending the last rites were: Mr. and Mrs. Louie Mackey, Elmer Mackey, Mr. and Mrs. G.D. Bowers and their son, Joe Bowers and his wife, all of Waterloo. Mrs. G.D. Bowers will be remembered here as Laura Mackey.
