Henry W. “Hank” Anderson, Jr., age 82, of Osage, died Sunday, June 21, 2015, at Osage Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Osage.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 27, 2015, at the First United Methodist Church in Osage with Pastor Sam Mack officiating. The family will greet friends and relatives for an hour prior to the memorial service in the chapel at the east entrance of the church. Inurnment will be at the Osage Cemetery with a flag presentation by Osage American Legion Post 278. Following services at the cemetery, there will be a time for lunch and fellowship at the First United Methodist Church.

Henry was born July 10, 1932, in Mason City, Iowa, the son of Tina (Zorn) and Henry Anderson, Sr. He graduated from Mason City High School in 1950. Henry served in the U.S. Army.

On June 9, 1953, he married Shirley Merritt at the Wesleyan Methodist Church in Mason City. Henry worked as a sheet metal fabricator. He then became a member of the Iowa Highway Patrol, retiring in 1991 after 32 years of service. After his retirement, he worked at various jobs, including doing security work at Featherlite and Winnebago. Henry was a member of the Osage American Legion. He enjoyed woodworking.

Henry is survived by his wife, Shirley Anderson of Osage; his son, Mark (Sue) Anderson of Tucson, Arizona, and children, Kyra and Tara; his son, Alan Anderson of Mason City and children, Terry, Adam, Christopher, Michelle and Jacob; his son, Jon (Rokki) Anderson of Chicago; and his daughter, Amy (Jay) Hickman of Hampton and children, Amanda, Alecia, Jace and Jaelyn; great-granddaughters, Aurora, Shaelyn and Mya; sister, Marje Neuring of Mason City; and brother, Calvin (Virginia) Anderson of Mason City.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Kim Anderson in 2004; brother, Emerson Anderson; and sister, Flora Janssen.
