Edward Leroy Field – November 2, 1944 – June 9, 2015
Edward Field, 70, of Ringsted, formerly of Charles City, died Tuesday, June 9, 2015 at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City surrounded by his loving family.
A service celebrating Edward's life will be held 5:00 p.m. Sunday, June 14, 2015 at the Hauser Funeral Home in Charles City. Edward's son-in-law, Pastor Jason Boyd, from the Faith Bible Chapel in Charles City will officiate. Inurnment will be held at a later date.
Friends may call from 3 to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 14, 2015 at the Hauser Funeral Home in Charles City.
Edward Leroy Field, the son of Harry "Doc" and Eunice (Stewart) Field, was born November 2, 1944 in Osage, Iowa. He received his education in the area and graduated from Rudd-Rockford-Marble Rock High School in 1962. Edward was united in marriage to Beverly Chambers on June 2, 1962 in Marble Rock and this union was blessed with five children.
Edward worked at Oliver for a short time, farmed west of Floyd for many years and worked at Chuck's Sale Yard for several years.
Edward enjoyed playing cards, watching sports and taking car rides with his dog Heidi. He really loved spending time with his family and visiting with friends.
Living family members include his five children: Jolene (Tim) Rogers of Ringsted, Julie (Joe) Eggena of Greene, John (Jody) Field of Rockford, Jerome Field of Forest City and Laura (Jason) Boyd of Charles City; 12 grandchildren: Erin Rogers (Jerod Jones), Matt (Elizabeth) Rogers, Allison (Shane) Walders, John (Jennifer) Eggena, Emily Pruisner (Kyle King), Sarah Eggena (Shawn Flanders), Brandon Field (Corinne Connolly), Hannah Field, Courtney Field, David Boyd, Lydia Boyd and Rebecca Boyd; 21 great-grandchildren: Naomi, Aliyah, Taylin, Joshua, Jacob, Jeremiah, Jonathan, Kyley, Caden, Shallie, Natalie, Trevor, Lily, Henry, Nolan, Natalie, Maddie, Madison, Patrick, Jackson and Gavin; two sisters: Pat Swedberg of Lancaster, Missouri, and Ginger Shipman of Nora Springs; along with MANY nieces, nephews, other family members, friends and his constant companion, his dog, Heidi.
He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Dean Boyd; two brothers: Roger and Kenny Field; and one sister, Judy Schilling.
