ST. ANSGAR, IOWA - Doris E. Erdman, 97, of St. Ansgar died Sunday, May 24, 2015, at the Good Samaritan Center.
Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 27, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in St. Ansgar with the Rev. Dr. Byron Northwick officiating. Burial will be at the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, St. Ansgar.
Visitation will be 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, May 26, at Schroeder & Sites Funeral Home, 207 S. School St., St. Ansgar.

#2:Doris was born November 15, 1917, the fifth child of George Sr. and Anna (Runge) Rosel. She was raised on the farm one-half mile east of St. Ansgar. Doris was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Faith at the Immanuel Lutheran Church. She attended school in St. Ansgar.
Doris married Bill (Wilmer) in the Immanuel Lutheran Church by Pastor Brammer. They had one daughter, Joan Marilyn Erdman Watts. Bill and Doris moved to the family farm west of St. Ansgar in 1935 where they raised grain and livestock. They moved to Grafton from the farm in the early 70’s. Bill passed away in 1984 and Doris moved to St. Ansgar to the Worth Living Center. In 2001 she moved to Northwood and resided at Maple Court and then to Good Samaritan Center in St. Ansgar.
Doris worked on the farm with Bill and also worked for 12 years at the Mitchell County Memorial Hospital. Doris was a member of the Rebecca Circle. Her hobbies included crocheting, sewing, golfing, reading, quilting, gardening, and most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family. Bill and Doris enjoyed going to Wesleco, Texas for the winters and living in their 5th wheel while there. They did this for eight years until Bill passed away.
She is survived by: her daughter Joan (Tom) Watts of Northwood; grandchildren Kim Helgeson and friend Jim Campbell, Chad (Becky) Watts of Monument, CO; great-grandchildren Jordan Helgeson, Cameron Campbell, Rylee and Karli Watts; sisters-in-law Norma Rosel of Osage and Marla Rosel of Bertram, Iowa; many friends, nieces and nephews.
Her husband Bill and 5 sisters and 2 brothers preceded her in death.
