OSAGE, IOWA - Funeral rites are tentatively scheduled for Friday morning at the Champion Funeral Home in Osage for Charles Alvah West, 64, who died Monday evening of coronary thrombosis at the Mitchell County Memorial Hospital; burial in Rest Haven Cemetery, Des Moines.
Born in Des Moines to Charles P. and Nettie Fairclough on September 2, 1887. He attended Des Moines schools and was employed in dairy work, then as a carpenter. He married Naomi Johnson of Marathon November 25, 1909.
The couple lived in Des Moines until 1945, then spent a year in Osage, and the following three winters in Phoenix, Arizona; came to Osage in May, 1950, to reside. Deceased had been assisting in the office of Thurow Motors in Osage.
He leaves his wife; three daughters, Mrs. Frank Thurow, Osage; Mrs. John Gaskell, Jr., Blue Island, Illinois; Mrs. Robert Stephenson, Palo Alto, California; and six grandchildren.
Preceding him were his parents; a son, Corliss; and a brother, Homer.
