Caroline Olson was born September 2, 1883 at Rock, Mitchell, Iowa to Johan Olson and Gubjorg (Julia) Guttormsdatter (Anderson), the first of their four children.

Caroline married Oscar Olesen Field on February 5, 1905 at Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa.

The couple had 2 children: Ina Geneva (Mrs Al Christiansen) and John Odell Field.
