Else Larsdatter Nelson (Odden) was born April 16, 1852 at Aadal, Buskerud, Norway to Lars Nelson Odden and Olea Olsdatter Teigen the second of their nine children. She had a twin sister, Martha.

Else emigrated 1853 to Green, Wisconsin with her parents and they moved west in the spring of 1854 to Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa with the Reverand Claus Clausen party.

Found in the 1856 census living at rural Osage, Mitchell, Iowa: Lars Nelson 36, Olea Nelson 32, Martha Nelson 4, Elsia Nelson 4, Nelse Loss Nelson 1.

Else Nelson died after the 1856 census was taken and before the 1860 census was taken at Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa. Believe she is buried somewhere in Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa but could not find her name in any records. The present RCLC Cemetery wasn't started until 1868, earlier burial list doesn't have her name.
