Obituary--

1891 Minnie Peck 1965

Minnie Live Peck, 74, was the eldest of nine children of Arthur and Ella Lappin. She was born near Osage, Iowa, April 30, 1891, and moved with her family several times in her early years.

She attended school and at a young age, began working for others to help support her family. She later worked as a clerk, postmistress and practical nurse before her marriage to Geroge W. Peck.

She married George W. Peck on May 8, 1923. A son and daughter were born to them. While Mrs. Peck did not have formal training as a nurse, her sweet disposition and quiet manner, her natural ability and interest in caring for the sick was to have great bearing on her role in life.

Consequently she gave of herself not only to her own family and relatives, but also to neighbors and friends who found her ready to comfort, give encouragement and share in a material way, all out of a heart of love.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church for many years and the South Austin Neighborhood Club.

Mrs. Peck had spent the last two years confined to bed and peacefully went home to be with her Lord at St. Olaf Hospital December 26, 1965.

She is survived by her husband George; a daughter, Mrs. Sidney (Lillian) Felty; a son, Arthur Peck; three grandchildren, Jean, Garth and Kimberlee Felty, Austin; three brothers, Arthur Lappin, LaCrosse, Wisconsin, Merrill Lappin, Indianapolis, Indiana, Roy Lappin, Rushville, Indiana; three sisters, Mrs Pearl Jensen, Albert Lea, Mrs. Harvey (Hazel) Hildebrand, Mrs. Arthur (Blanche) Sully, Newburgh, New York.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters.

Out-of-town relatives and friends attending the funeral came from Minneapolis, Albert Lea, LeRoy, Minnesota; Indiana; Wisconsin; South Dakota and Iowa.

Funeral Services were held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, December 29, 1965, at the Jordan Mortuary Chapel, Rev. Leo Sandgen officiating, Interment was at Oakwood Cemetery with Milford Busho, John Freidrich, Frank Felty, David Orth, Sanford Smith and Haven Boysen serving as bearers.
