Hendrik "Henry" George Knutsen Lundene was born July 2, 1874 on his parent's farm north of Rudd, Floyd, Iowa to Knut Andersen Lundene and Gunhild Hendriksdatter Fekjaer, the second of their four children.

Henry was baptized on August 16, 1874 at the Rock Creek Lutheran Church, Meroa, Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa. His baptismal sponsors were: Hans H. Fikjaer; Anton Lundene; Olia Lundene and Inger Lundene.

Found in the 1880 census at Springdal, Dane, Wisconsin: Knud A. Lundene 36, Gumeld Lundene 41, Andrew Lundene 10, Henry Geo. Lundene 5, Orinton Lundene 4.

Found in the 1895 census at Rudd, Floyd, Iowa: Hendrik George Lundene age 20.

Henrik and his brother, Orenton, both died from drowning while trying to cross the Cedar River in Mitchell County, Iowa. He is buried at the Rock Creek Lutheran Cemetery, Meroa, Cedar township, Mitchell county, Iowa.
