Inga Josefine Hansdatter Linstad was born September 8, 1901 at Linstad, Gran, Hadeland, Oppland, Norway to Hans Halvoren Linstad and Maren Jacobsdatter Vinorum, one of their six children.

Inga was baptized on October 20, 1901 at Gran, Norway. Birth/baptismal record found in the Norwegian Digital Archives for Gran in Gran, Hadeland, Oppland, Norway, 1898-1907, page 44, entry #47. (Note: Discrepancy found at RCLC Cemetery record, Social Security and Find a Grave-those 3 say her birthday is September 12, Norwegian Archives say September 8).

Inga left Linstad in Gran at the age of 11 years, traveling with her two older brothers, Aksel and Harold Linstad, three cousins and a neighbor from Gran. Emigration record says they left Norway on April 9, 1913 on the ship "Eskimo" to America. The party traveled on to Mitchell County, Iowa.

Inga lived at the home of Halvor Tingelstad and started school in first grade. She attended school through 8th grade. She then worked as a domestic and married Julius Olson.

Found in the 1915, 1920 censuses living at Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa with the Tingelstad's:

1915: Inga Linstad age 12.

1920: Hulvur Tinglestad 36 Betsy Tinglest 47, Howard B Tinglest 5, Inga Linstad 18, Olea Olehove 63, Ben Johnson 44.

Inga was confirmed on June 11, 1916 at Rock Creek Lutheran, Meroa, Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa.

Inga married Julius Gerhard Olson in 1920 at St Ansgar, Mitchell, Iowa.

The couple had four sons:
Jean Harold (1921-1977);
Melvin Galen (1923-1960);
Robert Oscar (1925-1994) and
Keith (b 1930).

The couple bought a 104 acre farm.

1925: Julius Olsen 26, Inga Olsen 23, Jean Olsen 3, Melvin Olsen 1.

1930: Julius Olson 30, Inga Olson 28, Jean Olson 8, Melvin Olson 6, Robert Olson 1 yr 10 mos, Donald Grunard 17.

Found in the 1940 census at Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa: Julius Olson 41, Inga Olson 38, Jean Olson 18, Melvin Olson 16, Robert Olson 11, Keith Olson 9.

Inga Olson died February 8, 1982 at Osage, Mitchell, Iowa and is buried at the Rock Creek Lutheran Cemetery, Meroa, Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa.
