Kalmar Laurits Klemesrud was born March 27, 1893 at Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa to Lise Maria Dynna and Herman Knudsen Klemesrud, the first of their ten children.

He was baptized on May 23, 1893 at the Rock Creek Lutheran Church at Meroa, Iowa. His baptismal sponsors were: Ingeborg Wamstad; Kari Klemesrud; Ludwig Dynna and Martin Klemesrud.

Kalmar died September 27, 1893 at Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa and is buried at the Rock Creek Lutheran Church Cemetery, Meroa, Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa.
